Focus on: Boclair Wine Room

Continuing our 'Focus On' series on the blog, where we showcase a different Turner Furniture project each month, we’re focusing on The Boclair Wine Room today.

The Beginning

We were first approached by our client who had been very inspired by the Greystone Desk. Our brief was to create a bespoke interior for a wine room in the outhouse of our client’s property on the outskirts of Glasgow. From the first initial meeting, the Boclair Wine Room took fruition.

The Boclair Wine Room was designed and handcrafted in our workshop in Glasgow. Using a mixture of copper solid timber and wood veneers to create a truly stunning interior.

Inspired by the buildings angular form (designed by Cameron Webster Architects) and copper exterior, the design elements of the interior were put in place.

The Process

With the copper wine rack/wall - we aimed to create a truly unique focal point for the room that would stop guests in their tracks. The wine cabinet was made from solid hand polished copper reflecting the exterior of the building. The cabinetry was handcrafted using Walnut, Rosewood, Ebony and Purple heart. The combination of these materials complimented by the Vibrant Pink Rippled Sycamore.

The room was also furnished with our Boclair cocktail table - made from live edge Scottish Walnut and embellished with our geometric branding. The details were what set this project apart, and really showed how each piece in our collection works perfectly together.

The Boclair Collection

The Boclair Wine Room and Boclair Cocktail table can be found in our Collection. Each piece in our collection is a standalone creation but can be paired perfectly with each other, due to the recurrent motifs and influences of geometry, contrast, and contemporary architecture and style.

All pieces within our collection are able to be made to our customer's particular specifications, so we can make them work for you no matter what space you are working with.

This was a fantastic project to work on. It’s always great to see how the different pieces in our collection fit within our customers’ living spaces. We loved this opportunity to give our customer an incredibly unique and opulent space to entertain and relax. We think our pieces inject a lot of life into the space and serve as a fantastic talking point!
